Born in 1983 in Plœmeur (France), lives and works in Paris. What does it mean to inhabit a place today ? Which relationship can we have with the environment ? These are some questions that guide the work of Isabelle Daëron. Graduated from Ensci-Les Ateliers (Paris) and School of Art and Design (Reims), Isabelle Daëron designs objects, installations and spaces from a reflection on the living environment and natural elements that constitute it. For instance, her project Topiques or the utopian desire to inhabit flows gathers a series of objects questioning the use of natural flows and sustainable energies in public space. Among them, Topique-water, a rainwater harvester that transforms rainwater into a drinkable water, Topique-wind, a leaves collector, Topique-sky, a sky mirror… For these works, Isabelle received some prizes : Lille design Prize (2012), Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris (2013), Audi Talents Awards (2015). Her projects were displayed in CCA Kitakyushu (Japan), Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Matadero (Madrid), Complexe Suvilahti (Helsinki). Isabelle Daëron founded her studio in 2010. She is also involved in research programs for the Research Department of the Cité du design (Saint-Étienne) and teaches at Ensad (National School of Arts Décoratifs) in Paris.
Laureates Faire Design
The Faltazi are designers, of the industrial kind. They have collaborated with the SEB group, and have designed for them steam irons, vacuum cleaners or electric jugs. They designed products for Schneider Electric, Baby Buggy for Bébé confort. They produce prospective projects as Monsieur Faltazi, Ekokook Kitchen or “Les Ekovores”. The Faltazi are often described as being atypical, but what they are involved in doing is to propose a concrete vision of the world and of their profession. Their commitment to ecology and society, their genuine aspiration to help develop a sustainable world, combined to their practical experience of industry makes their approach all the more interesting and unusual (Uritrottoir & Uritonnoir). Without rejecting the world of production, they imagine alternative, collective scenarios that challenge and seek to change the paradigms that have become settled in design, which is all too often the handmaiden of industrial and economic power.
