The resurgence of designer/decorators

Sunday 8 September — 16:00 - 16:45
The Talks — Hall 7

Description

Creating and harmonizing interiors has historically been the vocation of interior designers. After shining in the 20s and 30s, the term disappeared... In recent years, it has come back to the forefront, driven by daring young talents eager to write new stories to be lived, embodied in the decor.

Founder and creative director & Founder and artistic director - ODA Paris

Ève Ducroq and Arnaud Dollinger, partners in life and work, founded their interior design agency ODA Paris in 2020, dedicated to residential, hotel and restaurant, retail and corporate design projects. They support individuals and brands in their desire for unique interiors and their need to create new spaces. As a multidisciplinary agency, ODA Paris also sources design pieces for private clients and creates scenography for fashion brands. Located in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, the agency consists of a studio and a showroom. Like the editorial line of a magazine, the showroom is regularly transformed, allowing visitors to discover their approach to interior design through scenographies that bring together unique signatures of the contemporary creative scene and pieces of twentieth-century design that they find intriguing and unexpected. Conceiving, assembling and orchestrating with boldness and balance is the expression of their approach to decoration when it takes hold of a place whose narrative needs to be created.

Leading her creative laboratory of a dozen talents, she combines art forms into a cohesive whole – interior design, art, identity. She recently designed the first Iconic House projects and currently oversees a polar expedition ship company, a restaurant in Paris and several private residences - embracing an aesthetic journey, complete artistic creation and human adventures.

Alessandro Moriconi

Alessandro Moriconi

Interior Designer

Alessandro Moriconi crafts stories. The interior design stories that he tells are embellished by encounters and conversations that are essential building blocks to spark his vision. His stories are depicted through images and reflect a shared ideal.Inspired by people just as much as he is by places, he designs spaces by seeking out unique objects that evoke memories, define and elevate every aesthetic. Alessandro selects textures and materials intuitively, guided by touch. He transforms, interprets, amplifies, then artfully assembles and gathers them all together. Guided by his instincts and emotions, he designs exclusive scenes and decors where eras and styles intertwine.Enriched by his past collaborations as a designer with esteemed luxury houses like Chloé, Nina Ricci, JW Anderson, Lemaire, and as a stylist with Vogue Italia, Alessandro Moriconi seamlessly infuses an artistically driven approach into an obsessively pursued quest for natural, elegant and flawless harmony. His journey blending personal and cultural influences – a kid from Italy born in Tuscany, who ventured to London to attend Central Saint Martins, and now lives in Paris – defines his unique philosophy of architecture and interior design that is both rooted in sensitivity and cosmopolitan. From an apartment in Paris resembling a private art gallery to a Sicilian countryside home to the villas of Castello di Casole A Belmond Hotel in Tuscany, Alessandro envisions vibrant, character-filled spaces, always honoring their unique origins and stories.
