The What’s New? Spaces

Three project energizers

Once again this season, the chosen theme, “Terra Cosmos”, will reflect the mood of the moment. With our feet on the ground and our heads in the stars, we’re all dreaming of escaping our everyday lives. New technologies are opening up extraordinary possibilities, while simultaneously bringing us face-to-face with our responsibilities. The three What’s New? spaces ground our desires in matters of substance by delivering concrete solutions. What’s New? In Decor offers a review of the newest ways of living, producing, and creating. What’s New? In Retail is the ultimate strategic tool to make this into a financial reality within each retail outlet. And finally, What’s New? in Hospitality delivers the inspiring perspective of Maison&Objet’s Designer of the Year on the world of hospitality. Three powerful boosters to power your projects into the stratosphere!

All aboard: François Delclaux presents his ultimate curation of future top-selling items, inspired by the theme of the season, Terra Cosmos, all in a space-infused atmosphere, heading off to the Moon, Mars, and Neptune. Three exercises in style, between brutalism and futurism, solid matter and technology…filled with great ideas so you can direct your retail outlet to new horizons. In addition, the space will offer coaching sessions led by retail experts.

What’s New? In Hospitality

By Lionel Jadot, Maison&Objet Designer of the Year - Hospitality
— Hall 6

A brand-new experience that breaks the classic rules of hospitality: such is the invitation offered at his pavilion by Maison&Objet’s Designer of the Year - Hospitality, Lionel Jadot. As an upcycling specialist, this Belgian designer creates unique decorative settings crafted by creative minds, researchers, and visual artists. “The idea isn’t to appreciate just the setting,” he says, “but also the way the items have been produced.” As a living room, terrace, and café/restaurant, this space offers total comfort and escape. Lionel Jadot, along with his merry band of artists/designers, each using different techniques, beautifully demonstrate that there is an alternative to selecting from a catalog of products that are quickly consumed and disposed of. It’s enough to inspire you to design the hospitality spaces of tomorrow, eat and drink, or take a coffee break.

What’s New? In Decor

By Elizabeth Leriche
— Hall 7

This season’s theme, Terra Cosmos, whispered to Elizabeth Leriche the tale of a cosmic odyssey, immersed in the stars. The pavilion that she has envisioned to inspire our future decorative settings is meant to be visited under the light of the constellations, beneath a deep blue sky. Combining magic and technology, this prophet of trends reveals the aesthetic influences that will bring on our desirable futures: materials, textures, volumes, patterns, color gradients…Rough stone and lunar sands, red Martian earth, the luminous aura of the Sun, and metallic variations. Several pods straight out of a spaceship will offer galaxies of objects, accessories, and effects that inspire us to dream. But what is the message that the heavens want to convey? The celestial map recorded by our ancestors sketches out a mirror image of an Earth that we must preserve: the fish, rams, scorpions, bulls, all earthly creatures are one with the Universe, and it’s up to us to give them a bright future.
