What's New?

Inspiration straight from the source!

Maison&Objet Paris - 07-11 Sept. 2023 - What's New? - Elizabeth Leriche, Pattern Factory - François Delclaux, Wondernature

Their job is to forecast where the market will be headed by analyzing shifts in styles and in society. As trend-hunters, Elizabeth Leriche and François Delclaux present two What’s New? spaces at Maison&Objet. Within these spaces, you can discover their selection of new products that reflect what’s happening today, chosen from exhibitors’ collections. In the spotlight this year: nature and joy!

Grounds for elation
Patterns are back with a vengeance, and their scope is limitless. And so, Elizabeth Leriche has devoted her entire space to illustrating this year’s theme, “Enjoy”: Welcome to Pattern Factory. On its colorful façade, you’ll find designs in a joyful clash of all kinds of shapes, colors, and inspirations. Assembled, mixed, and juxtaposed…dots, flowers, historical patterns, and stripes energetically celebrate life! Visitors are called to immerse themselves in a hypnotic hallway that’s covered from floor to ceiling, before they discover five exercises in style that unfurl over five little alcoves. Artsy, ethnic, urban, garden-inspired, Pop…such are the many “grounds” to celebrate! Everyone can mix and match them as they like, to boldly express their uniqueness and free expression. And lastly, the exhibition wouldn’t be complete without understanding how all these delights are made and what inspired them. It’s all simply fascinating!

Wondernature

By François Delclaux - Hall 4

At peace with nature
Reconnecting with our own deeper essence now involves an unprecedented alliance with the botanical world. Such is the observation made by François Delclaux, who has noticed that our biological environment is at the heart of contemporary concerns. How should we be making things? How can we preserve life on Earth? These urgent questions, even now in our everyday lives, require us to reconcile historically opposing concepts such as the city and the countryside, nature and culture, heritage and modernity, or what’s natural and artificial. City-dwellers are redefining their relationship with all things natural. The need for green space and flowers is an essential part of our well-being. This awakening is leading to the search for a new sort of harmony within our interiors. Our living spaces are, of course, impacted by this quest, which takes on a poetic dimension and may become a source of wonder and joy. Wondernature. A new form of hedonism emerges from this call to consciousness. It’s simply enchanting!
