Founder and CEO of the award-winning agency BETC Design, Christophe Pradère is also a professor emeritus in world-class education organisations - Parson School of Paris, IFM, Camondo, Essec, Arts Déco-. For over 20 years, the multidisciplinary nature of this slick designer spearheaded him to embrace a number of international projects in different industries such as retail, corporate culture, luxury and consumer goods, with an everlasting sense of honesty, using design as a powerful awareness-raising tool.

Self-portrait. I believe that imagination would probably be the best way to define my vocation. Imagining other options to what seems obvious to us, going beyond the principle of reality and stepping into what is not, bouncing from why! To why not?!

We invite professionals from the lifestyle, culture and communications world to snap six shots that sum up their story. Smartphone in hand, they have fun revealing all the little nothings around which their world revolves. It’s time to take a peek behind closed doors.

Futile object
The jewellery that we wear often reflects the life we are dreaming of but have yet to accomplish. While they may seem futile, their meaning is rarely mild.
Initially, both of these rings were two pieces of secular jewellery. It is only later that they became genuinely spiritual in nature. One was blessed by a priest and the other bought on a pilgrimage to Mecca. Spirituality means a lot to me, with no judgement on what others believe in, and provided that it effectively bridges the gap between the opposite requirements of the principle of reality versus that of truth.

Good luck charm
The Holy Virgin protects me, I often call upon her when facing a challenging case, she takes care of all the people I love.

A souvenir
I have always made fun of this curb chain bracelet my father used to wear. It was his first present from my mother, as a symbol to seal their union, the beginning of a united and precious family, made of a solid chain in case life got trying.
It held up long enough to be passed down to me, like taking on a responsibility, a family obligation, an assumed role.

Current crush
It's probably the very first emotion I can actually remember from when I was a small child, I went up to the top of it and called it the "fel" tower
Unwavering affection and attachment, something important I always show respect for by slowing down when passing by, like paying a tribute, the genuine pleasure of being sure to see it from a different side.

Useful object
I love cooking and, above all, sharing my food.
Cooking is about giving to and accepting others.
This food processor my children gave me marks the achievement of a milestone, the one where I discovered sweet food and pastry, something I had kept at a distance until now. A wonderful discovery that has a pace of its own; which requires thought and anticipation, while savoury food is more about inspiration. And immediacy.
