The magazine invites interior designers and architects to unveil their furniture collections, made by the greatest craftsmen. A new generation brings a new breath to creation.
Last year, due to the pandemic, the AD Intérieurs exhibition was transformed into Parcours AD, a Parisian stroll dedicated to the exceptional furniture of interior designers and decorators. This year again, the magazine will offer a unique vision of the current production, in line with the great French tradition. About thirty designers will exhibit in their showroom or invited by galleries, "in the beautiful districts of the Left Bank and the Right Bank. Thanks to their projects all over the world, the confirmed names, Christian Liaigre, India Mahdavi, Chahan Minassian, Gilles&Boissier, Christophe Delcourt, and many others, are promoting the know-how of French artisans and the luxurious aesthetics of made-to-measure design, which is so special because it differs from industrial design production. Thierry Lemaire, for example, designed a complete collection of travertine and green marble from Italy in partnership with M éditions, les Marbreries de la Seine. Decorators and interior designers taste the exercise of furniture, produced in small series, and that they can adapt to demand. "Decorator furniture is always designed for a specific purpose, in a living space, it fits into the decoration easily," says Cédric Saint-André Perrin, journalist, and curator of exhibitions AD. They are both practical and fanciful, with a softness and a unique culture. They call on the most beautiful hands of craftsmen, carpenters, cabinetmakers, ironworkers, and upholsterers.”
The 2021 vintage is marked by a new generation, which like their elders is embarking on publishing. We have noticed the participation of many young talents," emphasizes Cédric Saint-André Perrin. During the pandemic, they took the time to structure their offer. "This is the case of Charlotte Biltgen, who, although she has been working on custom-made furniture for three years, has expanded her offer in recent months. My work abroad has stopped," she says. My rhythm has changed, I have drawn a lot. I took the opportunity to reorient my work. "Paris Design Week will coincide with the opening of her new showroom at 66 boulevard de Courcelles, near the Parc Monceau. There she will show the work of Marie-Victoire Winckler, the artisans of the Latil collections: the master glassmaker Kiko Lopez, the surfaces of Martin Berger. And of course her collection, with many new pieces in the Ibisu collection - named after a district of Tokyo- and the Moonlight collection. Charlotte Biltgen has also reinterpreted the fireplace in Sainte-Anne marble and Italian tiles. Fabrice Juan, Samantha Hauvette, and Lucas Madani, the Le Berre-Vevaud duo, the trio from the Nooor agency, as well as Fleur Delessale, for whom this is the first participation, are among the list of exhibitors. Chloé Nègre has teamed up with Maison Pinton, a reference for exceptional tapestries, and has created a rug and a carpet for the occasion. In their showroom, rue du Cherche-midi, she will organize a space composed of a sofa, an armchair, coffee tables, a light, and a mirror, inspired by flowers.
