Created by Michael Timsit, this set of places with remarkable architecture is unique in the Marais in Paris. It is also a magazine devoted to art, design, and architecture.
Twenty-five spaces are dedicated to showrooms, events, and exhibitions. Located in the third arrondissement or close to it, the Galeries Joseph is a must-see creative itinerary in the Marais district of Paris. As part of the Paris Design Factory, Paris Design Week has chosen a former industrial workshop at 7 rue Froissart to welcome young international designers. At 116 rue de Turenne, young French publishers will meet in a workshop of 850 m2 and 12 meters high under a ceiling bathed in the light of a large glass roof. White walls, rough floors, old parquet floors, sometimes Eiffel-style structures, and each time a very architectural staircase, the aesthetic signature of Galeries Joseph is ultra-fancy and marked by history.
Free to rent, for events and showrooms of fashion, design, and art exhibitions, the surfaces vary from 30 to 1200 square meters. Michael Timsit, who loves his neighborhood, recently acquired three galleries and a loft with a roof terrace overlooking a flowered courtyard dating from the Directoire, rue des Tournelles. He also added to his collection the former Musée Pierre Cardin, rue Saint-Merri: 1200 square meters of prestige, under an atrium culminating at 15 meters from the ground. These little-known places will surprise even the most knowledgeable Parisians when they discover this historical district, full of bars, restaurants, parks, and gardens.
Inspired by the great signatures that come to exhibit at his home, Michael Timsit founded in 2020 ACUMEN, a digital magazine dedicated to design and art designers in the most beautiful cities of the world as well as an online sales site of Scandinavian vintage furniture, The vintage Furniture. Its premises also serve as a setting for exhibitions of paintings and sculptures in its art gallery, Guido Romero Pierini & Michael Timsit, throughout the year, further entrenching this spirit of culture in the walls of the Marais.
