Edward Hogikyan is currently the Vice-President, Executive Director of NYCxDESIGN, a new division of SANDOW. In 2019, SANDOW was selected by the City of New York to become the official operator or NYCxDESIGN Week, beginning in 2020. Hogikyan has been involved with NYCxDESIGN since its creation eight years ago at NYC & Company, NYC’s tourism office, and most recently as Chief Marketing Officer at New York City Economic Development Corporation. An attorney by training, Hogikyan has spent most of his career in Advertising, working at leading global ad agencies including DDB Worldwide and Lowe.
Founder - Triode
The opening of Triode was for Jacques Barret the culmination of a rich and varied career in which design, particularly furniture and lighting, have always played an essential role. With a degree in Horticultural Engineering, he actively began his career in the design world at the legendary Saint Ouen flea market before opening his own architecture and landscaping firm, where he worked with some of the top architects in France and internationally. After writing a book, he taught at the School of Architecture in Rennes and served as a consultant for the French government, before deciding to pursue his passion for design by opening the showroom in Saint Germain des Prés, a reflection of his taste and experience.
Designer
Alex Brokamp is a Los Angeles based designer focused on blending technical skill with a lighthearted simplicity to produce furniture and lighting pieces that value material and function. Originally form Cincinnati, Ohio; Alex studied industrial design at the University of Cincinnati. After working for the lighting designer and artist Andrew Neyer, Alex has returned to school to pursue his graduate degree in furniture and fixtures design at ArtCenter College of Design. He will graduate in the spring of 2020.
Journalist & Author
In a career stretching over near 30 years, the English-born, Paris-based journalist Ian Phillips has interviewed the likes of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Yves Saint Laurent and Balthus. Now specialized in design, he is the author of four books on interiors edited by Taschen and a former editor-at-large for AD Germany. He has also participated as a moderator at the TEFAF Maastricht fair. Today, he freelances for a wide range of publications, including AD USA, Departures, 1stdibs and Vogue Living Australia, and recently penned the texts for a new book on the Bisazza art foundation, which will be released by Rizzoli in late September.
