Featured in our British Capsule exhibition are two of Britain’s leading designers with apparently contrasting styles. Bethan Laura Wood, who majors in colour with her eclectic, experiential style, and Lee Broom, who has perfected the art of reinterpreting classics with a restrained hand. Both have collaborated with major brands (Wood - Perrier–Jouët, Hermes and Dior; Broom - Christian Louboutin, Mulberry, Bergdorf Goodman) which are just part of a wide ranging melange of objects, art pieces and site specific installations created for their global audiences. Hear them discuss their different paths, influences, creative genesis and where they sit in British design scene today.

Designer & Founder - Studio Wood London
Bethan Laura Wood has run a multidisciplinary studio since 2009 characterised by materials investigation, artisan collaboration and a passion for colour and detail. Residencies and location-based projects have become an important factor in her design process, often working in response to her location, in collaboration with local manufacturers, or reflecting back into her work the visual and material culture particular to that area. Fascinated by the connections we make with everyday objects that surround us, Bethan investigates what drives people to hold onto one particular object and explores these relationships, questioning how they might become cultural conduits.
