80 years of Camondo: who will tomorrow's designers be ?

Friday 6 September — 13:00 - 13:45
The Talks — Hall 7

Description

The Camondo school is celebrating its 80th anniversary: since its creation, it has trained around 1,500 designers and interior architects in a demanding training program for the design of products and spaces, with a complex equation: in a constantly changing world, how can we train today those who will be practicing tomorrow? How does a school fit in with the challenges facing society? How can teaching methods combine know-how and interpersonal skills to meet the ultimate goal of job integration? How can we encourage and nurture creativity during studies, without restricting it, so that we can be operational in the marketplace? In the face of ecological challenges, what questions will tomorrow's designers have to answer? And, like AI, what new tools and media will they need to embrace?

Charlotte Juillard

Designer & Art Director

Born in 1987 in Gassin, Charlotte stands out for her studies in Design and Interior Architecture at the Ecole Camondo. Graduating in 2011 with the project "Morphose" in partnership with the prestigious Manufacture de Sèvres, she then joined Fabrica in Italy. Working under the guidance of Sam Baron, she created the "Paralumi" suspension for Seletti and an installation for Molteni. Back in France, she established her own studio in 2014, covering object design, textile pattern, and scenography. Her "Lavastone" collection showcased at Maison & Objet in 2016 propelled her among the emerging talents. Recognized in 2019 and 2021 by the FD 100, she collaborates with renowned brands such as Ligne Roset and Christian Lacroix. Her creative philosophy highlights craftsmanship and material exploration, emphasizing limited edition pieces. Fostering exchange, she creates a space for reflection to nurture a poetic and innovative approach to her projects.
