“I like interior design that leaves space for clients, collections, families, and life at home.” Charles Zana is an architect, interior design, designer, “assembler” (a term he loves), and product editor. He shares with us a career path infused with family influences, his training at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, and the encounters that have shaped him. With his numerous public and private projects, both in France and abroad, his reputation is more than established. Each project is a new story that blends art and design, which he crafts with an attentive ear to his clients’ needs, surrounding himself with artisans, lighting designers, and garden specialists. And there’s one piece of advice he gives to young architects: don’t stay confined to your field, but rather work on your general cultural knowledge and your curiosity about the world, to better envision projects and give them meaning.
