Each month, MINI and MAISON&OBJET share their hand-picked selection of three exciting design events. Travelling may currently be impossible, but ideas can certainly continue to circulate.
This Design Tour is shaped by some of the enthralling encounters made at the MAISON&OBJET conferences organised in partnership with MINI, which brought together some of the industry’s key players.
How can we continue making worthwhile connections and sparking ever-more fruitful encounters? The founders of DIMORESTUDIO, Alexandra Sprung, who co-founded Simone agency, and three up-and-coming designers who were present at the 3rd edition of the MINI Urban Talks each share their insights.
Founded in Milan in 2003, DIMORESTUDIO is a global design and interior design studio that works on residential projects as well as operating in the retail and hospitality sectors. From the second it was set up, the studio’s bold mix of unique designs heavily saturated with colour and its ability to imbue spaces with a dreamlike aesthetic made its work instantly recognisable. Its founders, Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, discuss their ever-changing take on design.

For the 2019 MINI Urban Talks conference programme, MINI turned the spotlight on how cities could be a source of energy. Cities – and notably Paris – are rich cultural melting-pots that spark out-of-the-box thinking and disruptive initiatives, making them outstanding avant-garde laboratories. Isabelle Daëron, Tuomas Autio and Alexis Tourron present their innovative projects inspired by the city.
