Futile object
It’s actually an object that has been rendered futile by the constant presence of our smartphones - my watch. Our cameras, road maps, dictaphones, notebooks, watches, alarm clocks, torches, credit cards, keys, etc. have all become obsolete since the incursion of this XXIst century extension of our arms.
Good luck charm
A piece of chain mail that I always carry around with me in my pocket... When I was little, I used to pinch my grandma’s chain mail purse, not for the money inside it, but because I liked to feel the cold metallic rings touching the back of my hand.
A souvenir (something brought back from a trip)
My motorbike. It’s not exactly a souvenir just yet, and I didn’t bring it back from a trip, but it allows me to travel freely, even if I don’t get that far...
Current crush
My fused cast basalt trinket dish, because it’s actually a stone (basalt) but that has the density of a cast iron-type metal, is glazed like a piece of glass, makes a ringing sound like something made from ceramic, and simply couldn’t be made from plastic.
Useful object
My Mac, which, by virtue of necessity has become the object that never leaves my side. It contains my whole life, in organised chaos. I can’t manage without it, which is actually pretty tragic...
