The Campus of Excellence in Art and Design Crafts joins Paris Design Week for a major exhibition on young creation at the Sorbonne.
The main goal of this new institution, born in 2020, is to unite art schools, promote their training, and meet the needs of industries by joining forces with companies, craftsmen, and patrons. Led by the National School of Applied Arts (ENSAAMA), the Campus of Art & Design, hosting at the Gobelins factory in Paris, also counts among its founders the Mobilier National.
Supported by the Paris Academy and the Ile de France Region, it brings together in its address book the major schools (Boulle, Estienne, Duperré, EnsAD, Ecole Bleue, Camondo, CNAM, etc.), professional and technological high schools, universities, and adult or apprenticeship training centers. Furniture, decoration, the art of crystal and stained glass, plumage, goldsmithing, watchmaking, the art of stone or metal, the art of fire, the art of the book, the art of textiles... its field of intervention is an inventory of the finest know-how of the French deesign and art cratfs.
Last year, the Campus helped select candidates for a prestigious project: to design the new furniture for the Murat lounge, the chamber of the Council of Ministers at the Elysée.
in September, at Paris Design Week, models of twenty groups of students were exhibited at Gobelins. Embodied in the research and creation workshop (ARC) of the Mobilier National, on the initiative of the competition, the winning creations for the modular table, chairs, and luminaires, won by the ENSAAMA ex-aequo with the Boulle School, the Blue School, and Camondo, are being manufactured. In September, in partnership with Paris Design Week, the Campus will invest a magnificent venue, La Sorbonne, to showcase the best of the school’s diplomas and masterpieces of the professional path.
The event is entitled "Strongly Tomorrow", will focus on environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, one of the major concerns of the younger generation. "The idea is to show to the public very successful new concepts, in a" go-to-market "spirit," explains Heloïse LeBoucher, operational director of the Campus. “We have planned a coaching module to ensure that the result is as professional as possible and that the young graduates are able to convince prescribers, recruiters or potential employees of their potential, their added value or the strength of their project.” Practical concrete case, the scenography will be imagined by the students of the school Boulle. "We want to bring the spirit of the campus to an audience of future students, and also to link training and professionals that are numerous at Paris Design Week."
