It’s your turn to be the star of the show! For its 2020 edition from 3-12 September, Paris Design Week and Les Ateliers de Paris are launching a call for outdoor projects.
Are you a designer? If the answer is yes, Paris Design Week offers you the chance to exhibit outdoors in a prestigious Parisian location. Would you like to see your installation in the courtyard at the Bibliothèque Forney or place your poetical design on the banks of the Seine? The only limit is your imagination and, of course, any technical constraints depending on the place you have in mind. In 2019, the Ublik collective presented a five-metre high stool in the courtyard of the Hôtel de Soubise at the Archives Nationales. Before that Alexis Tricoire, a designer whose speciality is working with plants, took over the greenhouses at the Jardin des Plantes with a wild installation entitled “Hybridations”, produced in partnership with the Fédération Française de Brosserie (French Brushmakers Federation).
The theme chosen to mark the 10th anniversary of Paris Design Week and the 25th anniversary of MAISON&OBJET is (Re) Generation. Creations can be inspired by this subject for which you will find more details on maison-objet.com.
Project leaders must join forces with institutional or private partners to finance the production and installation of their work. Paris Design Week and Ateliers de Paris will take charge of promotion. Creations will be exhibited throughout the duration of this event that is a reference on the Parisian autumn calendar and will benefit from the international visibility and media coverage that Paris Design Week affords.
To apply, send an email with a visual and technical description of your project to pierre.gendrot@safisalons.fr. Don’t forget to mention your choice of location. Deadline: April 15th 2020
