The young prizewinning designers have arrived.
They are young, free and reasonable. Some have work that is already distributed, whereas others are presenting their latest prototypes. In a minimalist and eco-responsible exhibit design, these young prizewinners (Maison&Objet Rising Talents Awards, Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris, Rado Star Prize) come together at Espace Commines to show off their creations. Amongst them, Atelier Super founders Virginie Willerval and Jean-Baptiste Durand exhibit their wonderful ceramics and Gwilen, aka Yann Santerre, presents a new environmentally friendly material made from marine sediments. Discover an alternative to varnishing wood developed by Studio 300 % founder Maxime Lis, who advocates a rational and restrictive approach to the production process. And also contributing to making design more reasonable, responsible and sustainable are Natacha Poutoux and Sacha Hourcade of Natacha & Sacha, who have already received awards for their sustainable household appliances, as well as Wendy Andreu. Two role models join the list of our other young guests: Paris Design Week Factory’s guest of honour, Brusselsbased fair Collectible, is showing the work of more than twenty of its designers in an original exhibit designed by Atelier Tomas Dirrix and Demain plus beau by Hélène Aguilard presents a selection “of meaningful objects” in an 100% recycled layout designed by Frédéric Imbert.
