In 2022, Paris Design Week truly took off, with impressive growth in its audience: 426 participants, over 200,000 visitors, and unrivaled press coverage.
It was a record-breaking edition, exemplified by 10 major installations, which each attracted between 5,000 and 10,000 visitors. These included “D3sign Capsule” by Elle Decoration at the National Archives, with 8,500 visitors, “Lumières” from Cristalleries Saint-Louis at the Poste du Louvre, which drew in 5,000 visitors, the exhibition designed by Vincent Darré at the Monnaie de Paris (Paris Mint), which brought in 5,500 people enchanted by “Haute Facture” workshops on show, and “Design for a Wild World” at the Académie du Climat, with its 7,600 visitors who came to see works by young graduates from 17 schools and institutions affiliated with the Design et Métiers d’Art Campus … all this, in addition to Paris Design Week Factory, which was held at both the Espace Commines and Galerie Joseph Froissart, attracting 11,500 aficionados.
Paris Design Week 2022 thus experienced record popularity, coupled with record levels of satisfaction: 95% of visitors said they were satisfied or very satisfied, and 84% of participants (exhibitors) also expressed being satisfied or very satisfied, with plans to return in 2023 up sharply.
Another healthy indicator was that of the event’s strengths, as perceived by visitors: 4.5/5 for the Talks with our partner Intramuros, 4.4/5 for our thematic circuits, 4.4/5 for the opening parties, 4.2/5 for the quantity of participating venues, and 4.1/5 for the quality of these venues.
Such are the many signs that Paris Design Week (7-16 September 2023) is on a path to success that is destined to continue at the next edition, which we’ve already begun preparing with your help, starting today.
