FONDATION LE CORBUSIER

Designed in 1923 by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, the Maison La Roche, like all Purist villas, contributed to establishing Le Corbusier as the master of modern architecture. The use of new building materials enabled the architect to implement, for the first time, what he called in 1927 "the five points of a new architecture". A modernist icon, the house-gallery has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2016, along with 16 other sites by Le Corbusier, for "their exceptional contribution to the modern movement". From July 4 to September 28, the Fondation Le Corbusier and Galerie Eric Mouchet present the exhibition "Un stade en Irak", by artist Louis-Cyprien Rials, which takes a look at the Baghdad gymnasium, a little-known work that has been tested by history.
